Here are 15 strategies to get your sexy content in the eyes and ears of more hungry people. Everything from On-Page SEO to developing seductive headlines:
Tip 1 Use Google Auto-fill function to uncover easy to rank for keywords. Most content marketers know to use Google Keyword Planner to find high search volume keywords but; did you know you can find even more keywords if you use the Google browser. Just check out the suggestions that the google auto-fill provides and create content around it.
Tip 2 Piggy back on YouTube to rank for keywords! Having trouble ranking your post for a keyword? then you should try creating a short 2 to 4 minute engaging video in your niche, you can rank for long tail keywords that way. The important thing here is to keep your attention rate high (its a big ranking factor on YouTube).
Tip 3 Embed your YouTube videos with your posts because it will decrease your bounce rate: the amount of time a visitor will stay on your post before he or she leaves.
This is another important factor in ranking high in the SERPs. Video is a great way to keep your visitors on your content.
Tip 4 On page SEO is important so make sure you have your target keyword in your:
- headline
- description
- post
- meta keywords section
- tags
Also, including variations of your keyword in the ‘alt text’ of your images is very important for on-page SEO.
Tip 5 Use Google Trends to see how your audience is ‘moving’ online, this will give you a content trajectory that you can plan for. If you find any ‘breakout’ keywords then build content around it now, and get the traffic for it later.
Tip 6 Communicate with other bloggers in your space, If content is king then he is an old man that needs your help.
You can’t get ranked all the time with just content alone, remember that the search engines use different social media signals as indications of your content’s popularity.
To help your content climb the SERPs, include out bound links (no follow) to other bloggers in your space and ask them to promote your newly published content. It’s a win/win! They get to be seen as an authority and they’ll want to share that fact with their favorite social media outlet.
Tip 7 Use Buzzsumo to find out what headlines are getting shared the most. It’s a free tool. Just put your niche keyword into Buzzsumo and see. Try to emulate your headlines like the ones you find. That’s another important search factor, how often does your content get clicked…

Tip 8 Change the headlines of your old posts that get a little traffic. Go to Google Console and find keywords that you’re ranking for but not getting a lot of click throughs.

Then go to that post and give it’s headline more oomph. You can use the buzzsumo tip we discussed above…
A good formula to follow is a 6 to 10 word headline in this pattern: number list or ‘how to’ + unique adjective + keyword phrase.

Tip 9 Limit options on your site for a better user experience. Remember that your bounce rate is an important factor in determining search rankings. Nothing gets your visitor to leave more than a site with too many links.
Go to Google Analytics and see how your audience behaves, find out the top 4 to 6 most visited links and make them your only options. This will decrease your bounce rate and improve your rankings.
Tip 10 Make your blog fast and mobile friendly, to make your site fast just get a plugin from WordPress and enable it. A good free one I recommend is ‘Comet Cache’.
Your site’s theme should be mobile friendly by now, but if it isn’t then I recommend another plugin called WordPress Jetpack, its free and it has a mobile version of your site once enabled.
Tip 11 Blog consistently, at least once a week and try to publish on the same day and time. This will get your blog crawled by the search engines more often.
Tip 12 Do you run an eCommerce site? Then you should no follow & no index your product pages for better SEO.
If you have a lot of product pages with little content or if you have many products with similar descriptions then you should noindex and nofollow those products and prevent the search bots from scanning them. The big search engines hate duplicate content.
Tip 13 Grow your subscriber list by leaps and bounds. To do this, you need a free lead magnet to attract your target audience to optin. It can be physical goods or an informational offer (video course, pdf, report…)

Whatever it is, it must solve a problem that your audience has. I recommend A/B testing two different lead magnets to see which one performs best.
Tip 14 Right for your audience first, but keep the search engines in mind. That’s right, you should be using the ‘best’ keywords that your audience understands, speak like your ‘tribe’ does.
What are the words that appeal to your target audience the most? You can’t just write for the search engines or you will come up short on traffic and on user engagement.

Stick to creating detailed and engaging content, it’s in the search engines best interest to find you. If you have the most shared and talked about content on the web for your keyword then Google, Yahoo and Bing will find you.
Tip 15 Promote & pimp content damn it! Its really important this day and age to do so; because the SEO landscape is saturated.
You need to be more proactive in content promotion. After you publish your epic piece of content, you need to go out there and promote the SH#T out of it!
A Burden Of Content Creation Love…
At the end of the day your content should a burden of love and you should be proud to promote it.
Like the expert craftsman whittling away at the wood until perfection is revealed, the end result won’t get any admirers until it’s proudly displayed in a shop, on Google, or on Facebook. Arm yourself with the tools of the trade and start pimping your content.
