Teddy Bear Content Marketing Part 2

Part 1 of this guide was all about finding keywords and creating awesome content around it. In this guide, I’m going to show you how to promote it to your social channels and email list. By the way, you should have a subscription newsletter on your site and social channels devoted to your niche. If not, get to work on that today.

You also gotta have cool and engaging content so that your followers can share it to their social channels. Here’s how you market your content:

I have mixed feelings about Facebook fan pages because not everybody on your fanpage gets notified about your new content. You gotta pay extra to get more reach on your OWN fan page. I think that’s crazy! Anyways, that topic is for another post.

When you publish your new content on Facebook don’t forget to put your keyword in hashtags at the top of your description. This will help people find your new content on Facebook when they search for it. Also, if your keyword is 4 or five words long then you should split it up because long hashtags are clunky.

internet marketing from start to finish
You should also write up a short but compelling description with your new content’s URL at bottom. Don’t be afraid to use superlatives to sensationalize your awesome content.

Finally, you are going to want to schedule your content to publish during Facebook’s peak hours. I recommend your schedule your content either on tuesday, wednesday or thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm.

I also like to publish different aspects of my new content on different days. Somewhat like a product launch, I might publish the image on tuesday, the video on wednesday and the completed post on thursday. My number one goal is user engagement.

Market Your Content To All Relevant Social Networks

Pinterest is more or less a newcomer in the social networking arena so there is still a lot to learn and discover about this cool platform. Also, a large percent of their demographic are women which is perfect for the baby shower niche.

Based on data gathered by several reputable resources, the best times to pin an image or video are in the early afternoon or late evening. Remember to add a short but compelling description that will draw attention to your image and stir up user engagement.

I also like to add the URL of my new content towards the end of my description. I also find that ‘long’ beats out ‘wide’ images when it comes to repins and popularity. Don’t forget that you can pin videos too, same rules apply.

Extra Tip: I like to comment on my own heavily repinned niche related images with a URL to my new content. It’s a great way to drive more traffic to my new content.

Broadcast Your New Content To Your Email List The Right Way!

If you have a website and you aren’t building your list then you are missing out on a huge piece of the content marketing pie. I’m going to assume that you are building your list.

It’s important to market your new content to your list. I use Aweber and they make it super easy to do so. Just go to the ‘broadcast’ section in the ‘messages’ tab and select the drag and drop email builder.

The first thing you need to do is create a compelling and open-worthy subject line. Make sure your subject is attractive and eye catching. Here are some examples:

  • bad: lose weight in a week
great: 2 simple ways to melt fat ultra fast in 7 days!
  • bad: free baby shower decorations
great: wow your baby shower guests with these free prints!
  • bad: 3 ways to stop smoking
great: 3 ways to prevent cancer, bad breath and wrinkles!

Either sensationalize or focus on the ‘why’ when writing your subject line.

As for your email, upload one of the images you created to ‘wow’ your subscriber when they first open your email. It should be the first thing they see under your headline. Your headline should be the same as your subject line.

Under the image, add a short description and links to your new content. Save and schedule your broadcast to go out during email opening peak hours. Best times seem to be  mid week some time between 1 to 3 pm.

That’s it. You got everything you need to market and build content. None of this works unless you put your heart into your content. I mean, you really need to focus on helping people first and building a good reputation.

Best of luck and come back for more easy to follow internet marketing case studies and guides.
