I spend at least 15 minutes a day on the Warrior Forum answering questions and asking them on various internet marketing ideas. Today, I wanted to do something unique, so I picked the first ten forum posts I saw and decided to answer them right here on my site.
The cool thing about ‘The WF’ are all different perspectives, experience levels and MMO (make money online) tips people share. It truly is the port o’call for internet marketers like myself, and I enjoy contributing to it daily. I hope you can learn something from the tips I’ve gathered here.
#1: Can I use a pen name instead of my real name for writing?
If you want to use a pen name for your blog or email funnel then I say go for it. However, I have first hand experience with this and I recommend that you use your real name because it adds authenticity to you and the message you’re putting out there. You can read about how I used a pen name for my baby shower site here.
I can tell you that your audience will react more favorably towards you if you use your real name, regardless of the niche you’re in.
#2: How long did it take to make your first $100 online?
It took me a solid six months to earn $100 from the time my first blog was up. That was when I was a newbie and my mind was all over the place with ideas and theories, many of them never panned out.
How did you earn it? I earned it as an affiliate for a decoration supply company on shareasale.com. I wrote SEO prepped articles on my blog using long tail keywords. Once a post ranked on the first page on Google I would get search traffic to my content and affiliate links.
Are you still earning money online this way? Well, yes and no. I still get free search traffic to my sites but I don’t use the same affiliate anymore. These days, people buy either my products or from another affiliate source. The baby shower affiliate that performed so well for me in the beginning gradually stopped converting….
Do you have advice for newbies? Yes, I do. Once you have a plan of attack, you need to be consistent! It’s really important to be consistent with any new skill you want to acquire. Also, don’t forget to acknowledge the small successes. Not only do these little triumphs motivate you, but they validate all of your hard work.
#3: Free email marketing software with automation?
I’m not sure exactly what Xixna is looking for but if you plan to be successful at content marketing then you’ll need an email autoresponder.
I use a premium one called aweber (here’s a demonstration) but there is a free-ish alternative. It’s called MailChimp, I say free-ish because you have limited features and it can only hold up to 2,000 subscribers.
FYI: An email auto-responder’s job is to collect emails from your website so that you can periodically send your target audience more content and offers. All the while, building a relationship with your subscribers.
#4: Level 2 seller on Fiverr now, awesome, right?
I want to be clear that I’m not a Fiverr seller but to quote Biggie Smalls “mo money, mo problems”. Once you hit a certain level of success with your own product, then you’ll have to get good at customer service quick!
I know from experience… I used to drop ship diaper cakes and things were going great until customers didn’t get their orders on time. Once I passed the order along to my drop shipper, it was out of my hands, but that didn’t stop angry customers from sending me angry emails.
To make a long story short, I stopped selling diaper cakes and started selling something I had more control over. You can read about that here.
#5: What can I do with 100$?
If you want to start marketing content to make money online, then $100 is more than enough to begin with. Let me break it down for you:
- Domain, Website & Hosting: $4 a month with a reputable host provider. Here is a discount with the same hosting service I use.
- Email Autoresponder: Free with MailChimp for the first 2,000 subscribers.
- Traffic to your site: Free, if you commit yourself to a method and a schedule. Check out these tips!
- Internet Marketing Training: Free, all you have to do is sign up for my email series here.
The beauty about this business is the low overhead costs and the free traffic methods. However, if you want to take the free route for your traffic, then it’s going to take you a long time to reach your goals.

You’re going to have to spend a lot of time creating and promoting content. It’s important that you stick to a schedule and keep consistent.
#6: “PayPal Security Requirements” Email Scam!
This is just a warning, if you have a paypal account then you might be a target for scammers. The warrior in this post was emailed by a scammer claiming to be paypal.
This phishing scam is particularly deceptive because they emailed him about a real paypal update (a new security requirement). They proceed to ask him to login to his account, using the link in the email to verify the requirements. The scammer went to great lengths to look and sound official.
If you do get a strange email concerning paypal, then never use the links provided in the email. It’s safer to open up a new tab on your browser and check from the source directly!
#7: If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree…
This post is more of a point then it is a question. He quotes Albert Einstein:
“Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid”
The original poster goes on to say that you don’t need to master everything, just stick to what you’re good at.
I agree with him to a degree. After all, I outsource a lot of the content and products on my baby shower site because, I either don’t have the talent or the enthusiasm to create it myself.
That being said, I can see how this can be used as a rationalization crutch by people who don’t have the willpower or patience to learn new skills.
#8: How to take action? Simply do it!
The sneaker brand Nike has it’s world famous slogan: Just Do It!
If you didn’t know, nike is Greek for “victory”, it was shouted out by Pheidippides when he ran 26.2 miles to tell the Athenians that the Persians were defeated. Pheidippides died of exhaustion right after he delivered the message.
What can we learn from this?
Yes, success comes to the bold and to people who take action, but taking action is just the first part. You need to be consistent with your actions, just like Pheidippides was with the steps he took towards Athens.
You also need to know that the road to success is long and difficult. Internet marketing is not a race, it’s a marathon.
#9: How did you make your first $1 online?
You might be thinking that answering this question is redundant, since I already answered ‘how I made my first $100’.
You’d be wrong to think so, because you’re going to make your first dollar way before you make your first $100.
That first dollar you make is super crucial, because it lets you know that it’s possible to profit online with the content YOU create.
Until you make that first dollar, then you’re merely ‘hoping’ that you can make money online. I remember when I first saw a dollar in my adsense account, I was gushing with joy! It was the boost I needed to drive forward and create even more content. I hope you experience that feeling one day.
#10: Can you give me an example of a good sales page?
There are so many types of sales pages out there, from video sales pages to long form sales pages. It’s up to you to test them out on your traffic. Keep the one that converts the best, and periodically test against it.
Extra Tip – This is by far my favorite resource for sales copy swipe files. Check out this video and learn all about it:
