How To Create a YouTube Live Webinar The Essential Guide

If you’re an internet marketer (or any kind of content creator) then I’m about to blow your mind. Yes, this is a tutorial on how to create a YouTube live webinar but it’s so much more…

Free Tool: Youtube Live Webinar

Let me explain,  YouTube Live is a REAL game changer, not only as a webinar platform but as a traffic source. For the first time ever, digital marketers and content creators are truly empowered to spread their messages, unencumbered by messy technical hurdles or costly monthly fees. Here are the exact reasons why  you should stream a YouTube live webinar:

YouTube Live has traffic priority – Youtube puts search priority on new media platforms such as 360 VR experiences and live streaming videos, lucky Us! This means more traffic and more engaged users to our channels and websites.

It’s free – companies like Gotowebinar can finally go-to-hell with their crazy expensive costs and fees. Not only are those companies expensive but they are difficult to use, with many users complaining about buggy software. This is not an issue you’ll ever have to face ever again!

It’s easy – yes, it’s super easy to setup, and simple to embed on your website or blog (as you will soon find out). On top of that, the URL Youtube provides when you schedule your live stream webinar is the same URL that you use during the webinar. And, it’s the same URL that will exist on your channel until the end of time. No more fussing around with different links and platforms, thank goodness!

You can bring it all home – you can embed your YouTube Live webinar and the Youtube chat box right on your site. That’s right, you can send all your email subscribers to your blog where you have full control.

Google+ and YouTube Live broke up – no more messy set-ups with Google+. Back in the day, if you wanted to setup a live stream on YouTube, you had to fuss around somehow with the Google+ platform. That’s no longer the case….

Superchat – get paid! That’s right, your audience can pay you for your attention. This feature is very much like the feature Twitch provides. It’s a great way for your audience to support you and your content. Read more about it here..

I just gave you a fist-full of reasons to jump on the YouTube live stream bandwagon. It’s a great way to get traffic to your blog and it’s free. Plus, you can get paid doing it!

How To Create a YouTube Live Webinar…

Now that you know ‘why’ you should start using YouTube Live, let’s get into the ‘how’. First you’ll learn how to set it up and how to embed it on your website or blog.

First you’ll want to head on over to your YouTube channel, then:

  • Click on the ‘video manager’
  • Then click on ‘Live Streaming’
  • Go to ‘Events’ under ‘Live Streaming’

In the ‘Events’ section, write out your title, description and tags, remember to keep your niche and SEO in mind when doing so…

Also, don’t forget to select the monetization option if you want to display ads on your live stream webinar. You’re also going to need to:

  • select when your event will go live
  • select if it’s public, unlisted or private. (public anyone on youtube can see it if they find it, unlisted only people with the link or the page it’s embedded on can see it, private only people you invite via email can see it)
  • select ‘quick’ under Type so that you don’t have to mess around with a complicated encoder

After you click ‘go live’ you’ll have the option of using your webcam or screencast. That’s it, now you’re all set with that. Let’s talk about putting it all together on your website or blog.

How To Embed Your Youtube Video & Live Chat Box On Your Site..

Embedding your live stream YouTube video is easy, you do it the same way you embed any other YouTube video.

Learn how to do that right here…

That being said, embedding your Youtube chat box is a little bit tricky, but don’t worry, it’s not difficult. I found an awesome guide on PeggyKTC.com showing you everything you need to know. Here is how it’s done…

Record Your YouTube Live Stream Webinar With a Smart Phone

You can now live stream directly from your YouTube smart phone app, but before you do that, make sure you click on  ‘Airplane mode’ to avoid interruptions during your recording. Also, make sure your wifi is turned on.

After all of that is done, just open your Youtube app and:

  1. click on the video record icon at the top of the app.
  2. select ‘Go Live’
  3. then click the gear at the top to type in your description.
  4. type in your video’s title and select if you want the live stream to go public, unlisted or private.
  5. after that, you’ll be taken to a video thumbnail creator
  6. once your thumbnail is done, select ‘landscape’ mode because it’s the best way to view a video (in my opinion)
  7. click the ‘share’ button to share it with your social media accounts
  8. then click ‘Go Live’

Special Note: at the time of writing this post, the go live feature was slowly becoming available to Youtube accounts. If this feature isn’t available on your account yet, hold tight because it will be soon.

It doesn’t matter if you use an Android phone or an iphone, you can start creating amazing and engaging webinars in no time with just the basic YouTube app.

Now Tell Your Email List When & Where…

This is a very simple step but a super important one. Make sure to schedule an email broadcast telling your subscribers when and where your webinar will go live. Here are some things you need to do…

  • Provide a detailed explanation why they should watch it and what’s in it for them.
  • Don’t forget to provide a link to the page where your live webinar will be shown.
  • Also, stress the fact that it’s live and that they can ask you questions in real time.
  • On top of that, make sure your email broadcast title and your live webinar title are all the same.

Hit send and see the response. In the future, try to copy the titles and the webinar topics that gets you the most viewers. Listen to your subscribers and learn what they want from you.
