Put Your Adsense Code In WordPress Correctly

You got your blog going and you producing great content that your niche traffic is really into. You’ve decided it’s time to monetize your blog.

You applied for Google Adsense and you got accepted, congratulations! Now comes the hard question “Where do I put my Adsense code on my blog?”

I think most of us have an inkling that our adsense units shouldn’t be placed carelessly around our blog. If you fall into this camp then let me show you where to place your ad blocks in and around your site.

The Right Place For Your Google Adsense Code

You might have heard that content is king. You also know that nobody gets in the way of the king or talks over the king.

That’s right, treat your adsense code like subjects of the king. Never in his way but always present!

When somebody arrives on your landing page, the first think that should greet them is your awesome content. Your Google ads can hang out on the side bar or maybe somewhere under the third or fourth paragraph in your post but never in the way of your content!

Try to keep it no more than three adsense units per page. Also, try to make sure that your ads compliment the post and are aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

where to put adsense code

Notice that on this very page the only ads you see are on the side and deeper in the post.

Google also has recommended adsense units that you can use. It’s up to you to figure out which ones suit your blog’s theme the best.

You might be worried about your CTR or click through rate. Yes, it’s true that the deeper an ad is in your post the less likely it will be clicked on by your visitors. To combat this, I recommend using a big fat ad square like the one above.
