Selling to local businesses is a great way to increase your bottom line, in this post and video I’m going to show you how to find local business customers, what to sell them and what you should say. First watch this video:

Now that you know what to do, let me show you what to sell to these local businesses.

My Experience selling to local businesses

Back in the day I found a make money online guide on how to sell child safety kits to local businesses.

It worked like this, I’d contact elementary schools asking them if they would like free child safety kits. I’d also tell them that they would be sponsored by a local company.

Once I got the ‘Okay’ from the school I would then find local businesses to pay for the child safety kits.

I’d also ask the business for their logo and address. I would then contact the child safety kit vendor and have them put my customer’s logo and address on the kits.

After the order is complete, the vendor would ship the safety kits to the school. It was a win/win all around:

  • School got free kits
  • Vendor sold kits
  • Local business got exposure
  • I made ‘BANK’ from the margin

I bought the kits for $100 from the vendor and sold the kits for $200 to the local businesses.

It worked like a charm but I spent hours ,upon hours, going back and forth with everybody involved.

Turn Digital Solutions Into Money In Your Pocket

  • Lead Magnet Creation

Here is the email sales template I’d use

Here is how I’d contact small local businesses:

Subject: City Niche Help

Hello (Name),

I couldn’t find a (solution) about your (niche) services on your site.

Wouldn’t you like your potential customer to know exactly why you provide the best (niche) in (city)?

I’m (Your Name) and I help local businesses like yours to (solution).

I’d like to provide you with a sample video using your service free of charge.

Would you like to see it?

Let me know and I’ll send it right away.

Your Name

Video/Content Creator

yoursite.com

Notice the subject line speaks directly to the owner of the local business. You also want to explain the benefit to the shop owner as soon as possible.

Hidden Content

You should always keep your first email short, sweet and to the point.

Closing the deal

If the local business owner replies with a ‘YES’, you then create a sample mock-up and send it to them. Let them know it’s $97 for the finished product. Once they buy it you can upsell them on more digital packages like:

  • More Videos
  • More Graphic Designs
  • Facebook Page Creation
  • etc..

The first “yes” is so important, it’s what gets your foot in the door.

Is This Easy-Peasy?

Yes, it’s easy to try it out but it takes time and consistency to be successful at selling digital products to local business owners.
